This important group show depicted the history of paleontological reconstruction. Included were 11 paintings from Stout’s book THE DINOSAURS-A Fantastic New View Of A Lost Era. One of these paintings was chosen as the show catalogue's cover (The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County has offered to purchase this painting for their collection). This exhibition has broken all attendance records at each of its host museums. At the Smithsonian alone, over two million visitors saw this exhibition. In addition to this show, Stout has loaned his paleontological reconstruction work to several natural history museums (including the Boston Museum of Science) for exhibitions on dinosaurs.

The Prehistoric World of William Stout

Stout’s first one man show.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science (Houston, Texas) and the Words & Pictures Museum (Northampton, Massachusetts) both have permanent displays of William Stout's work. The Hollywood gallery “Every Picture Tells A Story” currently shows Stout’s art, and will host a one man show of his Antarctic work upon publication of his book in conjunction with Stout's eastern representative, Scheele Fine Arts in Cleveland, Ohio. Alexander Gallery in New York City also sells and displays Stout's major works.
